Las Vegas racks up zeroes vs. Edmonton

EDMONTON, Alberta -- The Trappers' Karl Dale held the Las Vegas Stars to just five hits en route to a 3-0 victory on Monday night.

Dale (4-2) went seven innings, giving up two walks along with the five hits. Jim Dougherty picked up his fifth save.

Stars starter Matt Clement gave up an unearned run in the first inning, then held the Trappers in check until the seventh, when they scored twice more on a walk, a triple by Mark Bellhorn and a groundout.

Clement, who gave up just four hits in eight innings while striking out nine, is now 10-7 on the year.

For the Stars, Greg LaRocca had two hits.

Tonight, recently acquired Ray Ricken takes the hill for the Stars against Edmonton's Jay Witasick (9-6, 3.72 ERA).
