Man hit, killed by pickup truck

Benjamin Gaeta, 37, was struck by the pickup truck Sunday night near the Buggy Bath Car Wash on Lamoille Highway.

Witness said the driver of the truck, Lee Hill, 20, could not avoid hitting the man when he ran across the road.

An investigation is under way to determine if the victim had been drinking, the patrol said.

Gaeta was taken to Elko Central Hospital, where he died early Monday.
