Foster parents arrested on child assault charges

Michael E. Hart, 37, and his wife, Peggy N. Hart, 33, were arrested Thursday night at their home, police said.

They were charged with six counts of sexual assault, unlawful use of a minor in producing pornography, and possession of child pornography.

Police said the couple were foster parents of the alleged 13-year-old victim, who allegedly told new foster parents of sexual contact she had with both Michael and Peggy Hart.

Authorities add that tapes were seized from the couple's home.

No other victims were identified, but detectives and social workers were contacting all other children who were placed in the Harts' care as part of their investigation.
