Letter: Costs Clinton has incurred don't rate with predecessors

Ashe shows ignorance in the letters. President Clinton costs taxpayers much less than his predecessors did. He owns no property, therefore we are not paying for the first family to be flying back and forth every weekend like we did with Ronald Reagan and George Bush. We had to pay to have their homes equipped with all sorts of security measures.

George Bush has lived his entire life on taxpayer payrolls. He was in the military, an ambassador, head of the CIA, vice president, and president, to name a few. Eisenhower? Military and president. Ford? How about 35 years in Congress and vice president and president! Nixon? Congressman and president. These are just a few examples of American taxpayer employees.

And not a one ever paid for their own transportation or their families' transportation anywhere. Did Reagan pay for his trips back and forth to Santa Barbara, or to Germany? I don't think so. Did Nixon pay for his trips to the former Soviet Union and to China? I don't think so.

As for Clinton and his sex life, it is nothing compared to the Iran-Contra affair and Ronald Reagan. Now that was illegal. Your Clinton hater is so jealous; Ashe is pathetic.
