Claudia Cormier quits as head of state business-industry agency

Cormier served as the top administrator for 27 agencies within the department for the past 2 1/2 years. She's leaving to take a job as legal counsel with NOS Communications Inc., a business long-distance company in Las Vegas.

"Claudia has served Nevada well as director of one of the largest departments in state government," Gov. Bob Miller said. "While I am unhappy to see her leave state service, I am very happy she has found this career opportunity."

Charles Horsey III was named acting director. He's administrator of the Housing Division within the department.
