Letter: A thank you to chief justice for ruling in defamation case

Finally someone in authority has concluded that what Jones did was wrong and was "reckless disregard for the truth." How dare she accuse Miller of having narcotics in his car, then retracting the accusation after the election?

Of course she won, who would not have rejected a candidate who was accused of committing a crime, and who had no time to respond?

I was one of those people who believed Jones' accusation against Miller in 1991. I thought that just because he didn't answer her claim before the election that he was guilty of what she said, so I voted for her. Now, seven years later, I am ashamed that I did not see through what Springer called "slander per se."

Again, thank you, Springer, for finally letting the truth be heard, and I hope that the other justices agree with him so Miller can finally get Jones in front of a jury, so the truth will be told.

Yes, this was truly an example of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas."
