Letter: Running of the bulls an idiotic idea

Set aside the fact that there are reasons hundreds of years have passed with no other place in the world trying to duplicate this lame event. Didn't they realize there might just be something they were missing that the rest of humanity has not?
I will watch with great trepidation for any of the numerous opportunities this event will spawn for disaster. Perhaps we can all watch someone trampled or gored, up close and personal, of course. Boy, I can hardly wait for my wife, myself, my children or granddaughter to see that! What entertainment!
Or perhaps we can enlighten ourselves or children with the sight of adults whipping animals into a frenzy of fear and degrading chaos. All this for the craving of excitement a few people must have.
Adrenaline! Wow, what a thrill! If it's adrenaline they want, I say let the lamebrains jump out of a plane without a parachute. Now we're talking adrenaline rushes.
I can hardly wait for the first of numerous lawsuits to be filed when something goes wrong. If the city of Mesquite thinks for one minute their disclaimers they will have runners sign will make them immune from suits, they need a better attorney. It will have precious little weight, if any.
This is America. In America, when something goes wrong ... we sue! ... and we win!
As for my family and me, well, no more trips to the casinos and businesses in Mesquite.
