UNLV's Lunde shares title

The United States team won 10 of 12 singles matches today and beat Japan for the third straight year at the 54-hole Fuji Xerox U.S.-Japan Collegiate Golf Championship in Asogun, Japan.

Bill Lunde of UNLV and Ben Curtis of Kent University shared the lowest total of 6-under 210. Lunde beat Nihon's Azuma Yano 72-75, while Curtis defeated Keizo Yoshida of Tohoku Fukushi 71-77.

In the final round, James Driscoll of Virginia shot the day's best score, a 2-under-par 70, and beat Shugo Sakurai of Nihon University, who had a 77.

With a three-round total of 5-under 211, Driscoll was third overall among the men.
