Hearing set for teenagers accused of murder
Monday, July 6, 1998 | 4:13 a.m.
Kyle Ray and Colby Becker, both 15, are charged with killing Ray's parents and his 12-year-old sister.
Prosecutors say the two Battle Mountain boys plotted the murders and then traded off pulling the trigger of a Remington .22-caliber rifle at Ray's home the night of May 30, when James Ray, 42; Kimberly Ray, 37, and 12-year-old Jennifer Ray were shot to death.
The boys have been held in Lander County jail since the killings on three charges of murder charges and one of conspiracy to commit murder.
Authorities allege that Becker shot James Ray and that Kyle Ray shot his mother and sister. They say the shootings may have been preceded by an argument between the Ray boy and his mother.
