Murder arraignments postponed

The arraignments for Robert Ryan Rowland, 40, Tony Martin Smith, 31, and Richard Paul Irvine, 32, were continued Monday until Aug. 31 so that public defenders can review grand jury transcripts in the case.
Rowland, Smith and Irvine were indicted June 18 for the Jan. 19 murder of Steven Bruce Silva, 47, at Nevada State Prison. He was kicked and beaten with a chili can wrapped in a pillowcase.
They're also accused of robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery. A fourth man, Juan Pedro La Peire, 22, is accused of conspiracy to commit robbery and being an accessory to robbery. He has an arraignment set for Monday.
