Trial delayed a month for Gypsy woman
Tuesday, July 7, 1998 | 11:32 a.m.
The continuance was granted Monday after Robert Bruce Lindsay, the new attorney for Margaret Venus Loeo, said he needed time to acquaint himself with the case. He also wants a psychological evaluation for his client.
Douglas County District Judge Mike Gibbons said Loeo, 23, must remain under house arrest at her mother's Sacramento home.
Doris Milo and Steve Yonko, also charged in the case, turned themselves in Monday at the Douglas County jail in Stateline.
Warrants were issued for Milo and Yonko on Feb. 3, but they remained at large until now. Yonko reportedly is Loeo's former husband and Milo is Yonko's mother.
The three are accused of concocting a scheme to get Loeo romantically involved with Anthony Brusca, 81, in order to steal his savings.
