Jeremiah Bashaw, 16, was arraigned on charges of trespassing and violating curfew Wednesday in juvenile court. He denied the charges and will take part in an Aug. 6 hearing with another teen implicated in the fire.
Bashaw and Jimmie Guthrie, 16, allegedly started a fire that burned down a vacant garage across the street from the Legislative Building. Three other businesses were forced to move or close because of the fire.
Bashaw's arraignment was delayed by the appointment of a public defender to the case.
If found to have committed the acts, the boys could be sentenced to probation or to the state's youth training center in Elko.
