Todd Bodine loses job

ISM Racing's difficult first season on the Winston Cup circuit has cost Todd Bodine his job.

The driver was fired Wednesday after failing to qualify for half of the first 16 races this year. Team owner Bob Hancher said Gary Bradberry would drive ISM Racing's Pontiac this weekend at Loudon, N.H., and that a permanent replacement would be named in the coming days.

Bodine, who finished second last year in the Busch Grand National standings, signed a three-year deal in the offseason to drive Winston Cup cars for ISM Racing. The team made its debut at the Daytona 500 with McIlhenny Co., the Louisiana-based maker of Tabasco hot sauces, as its primary sponsor, but problems quickly developed.
