Letter: Running of the bulls event is ultimate in disregard for animals

The public is now well informed and aware of the animal cruelty and torture inherent in all of these events -- some behind the scenes, while others, such as the rodeo, are very obvious. The compassionate caring people here in Las Vegas who are saddened and disgusted by the exploitation of animals for "entertainment" can write or call their state senator, governor, mayor, and TV and radio stations to let their feelings be known.

Of course, the best way to help these poor animals is to never buy a ticket or participate in any of these outdated horribly cruel events. Nevada will soon get the message and hopefully join many of the other 50 states in banning "animal acts" forever.

By finally admitting that animals have rights and feel pain the same as we do, Nevada may even lose it's shameful redneck image -- miracles do happen!
