Nitro Flashback Saturday night at LVMS

Top Fuel dragsters, Super Charged Outlaws and Fuel Altereds will be featured Saturday night when The Car Doctor Nitro Flashback heads drag racing action at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Included in the Top Fuel field will be Troy Green, a Purcell, Okla. driver who set fast time of recently at a nostalgia race in Tulsa, Okla.
Other Top Fuel entrants include Bob Hallock, a Costa Mesa, Calif., competitor who drives the Egan, Frey and Hallock '95 Sterling powered by a 420 cubic inch Donovan. The highly-touted 43-year-old Hallock is expected to run in the mid-six second range at more than 200 mph.
Alicia Stirling, a 25-year-old fitness center employee from Salinas, Calif., will power her "Sweet Dreams" powerplant. Driving a car powered by a 370 cubic inch, 2,000 horsepower engine, she has a best of 7.50 at 200 mph.
Norton will drive the Thumper II entry. He powers a '68 Woody Gilmore with a 400 inch 2,000-horsepower Donovan engine. The car's original owner was Benny Osborne, a world champion Top Fuel driver in 1966-67.
Norton's best time is a 6.40 at 224 miles per hour in the Hot Rod Reunion in November at Bakersfield's Fomosa Drag Strip. He ran at Las Vegas Motor Speedway about two years ago, finishing runnerup.
Heading the Fuel Altereds will be Al Marcellus's Winged Express, driven by Mike Boyd, and Howard Haight, driving the Mike Sullivan Fiat. Both cars are capable of running of running six-second quarter-miles at more than 200 mph.
Also scheduled is the eighth National Hot Rod Association/Craftsman ET points race of the year.
Gates will open at 4 p.m., with eliminations set for 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 military, seniors and children 6-12. Children under 6 will be admitted free.
