July ethics hearing set for two Fernley Town Board members

Board Chairman David Stix Jr. and board member Danny Lunsford have been accused of voting on matters involving developer Rich Cable, even though they had personal relationships with him.

The complaint against the pair was filed by fellow board member Don Parsons, who claims the two also pushed through Cable's idea of an 80-acre park as Parks Committee members.

The ethics commission will examine the scope of their relationship with Cable and whether they should have abstained from voting on issues involving him.

Commission members also will examine advice given to both Stix and Lunsford by Town Attorney Rebecca Harold.

In April, Stix and Lunsford went before the commission to determine if there was sufficient cause to proceed with a hearing.

The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. July 24 at the Town Complex.
