Letter: If immigrants are here illegally, they don't deserve medical care

The Sun carried an editorial opinion (June 28) from another newspaper, the Bakersfield Californian, suggesting "illegal immigrants deserve prenatal care."

I, for one, completely disagree. In a day when hard-working, taxpaying American citizens are denied medical care, and veterans are turned away from VA facilities even for service-connected problems, it is a crime to give medical care to illegals.

To say the least, these people do not even have the right to be in this country, let alone receive all kinds of benefits. Our politicians have betrayed our people and our country by passing legislation to create a dependency constituency to satisfy their own selfish aims, namely their tenure in office.

Recently a giant pork barrel highway program was passed in Congress with billions of dollars being cut from veterans' programs to feed the fat politicians. Of course, 90 percent of the people in Congress never wore the uniform of one nation, so they could care less about the millions of men and women who sacrificed for America.

These immigrants seem to have money for things food stamps cannot be used for, and the bingo halls and casinos are loaded with these people, and we wonder why America is going bankrupt.
