How the Las Vegas City Council voted Monday to spend tax dollars:

* $586,678: To Clark County to provide a public defender to represent defendants in Municipal Court through June 30.

* $300,000: To Syneco Systems Inc., St. Louis Park, Minn., for odor control chemicals at the water pollution control facility through Feb. 28.

* $160,000: To 16 instructors or speakers on domestic violence awareness, petit larceny, prostitution and drunken driving for Municipal Court-ordered defendant classes through June 30.

* $83,169: To the Workers Compensation Self-Insured Trust Fund to renew an insurance policy with J&H McLennan to provide excess workers compensation coverage for city employees through June 30.

* $66,000: To the Clark County Treasurer for proprietary data processing services, like criminal justice information, for various city departments through June 30.

* $50,000: To Desert GMC Volvo East, Wilden's Pride Dodge, Towbin Jeep Eagle and Chapman's Las Vegas Dodge for original equipment manufacturer's parts for repair of city vehicles through June 30.

* $44,163: To Haworth c/o Facilitec for modular furniture for the under construction municipal pool.
