CARSON CITY - Former Assemblyman Roger Bremner, who has held several jobs in state government since leaving the Legislature, is taking over as head of the state Division of Industrial Relations.
The DIR spot was vacated by Ron Swirczek, who took a job as chief financial officer with the Department of Training, Employment and Rehabilitation.
Bremner has been serving as executive officer of the state Dairy Commission. Before that, he worked for the state Job Training Office, DETR, and the old State Industrial Insurance System.
He served in the Assembly between 1973 and 1984. That included a stint as chairman of the powerful Assembly Ways and Means Committee.
As DIR chief, Bremner will oversee 181 employees. The agency works with Nevada employers and employees to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses.
