Janet Boyce, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for 12 years, she was born Feb. 4, 1942, in Astoria, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald W.; four sons, Ronald W. Boyce II, Timothy J. Boyce, James T. Boyce and Christopher D. Boyce, his father, Frank Prochaska, and one sister, Phyllis Resler, all of Las Vegas.

JOHN STEPHEN COX

John Stephen Cox, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 28 years, he was an actor and director of theater, a Navy veteran and a Christian Science chaplain at Nellis Air Force Base.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger; one daughter, Cindy Goodfellow; one brother, Don Cox; one niece, Donna Drewry; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:15 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

IGNACITA V. 'TITA' GARCIA

Ignacita V. "Tita" Garcia, 80, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born June 3, 1918, in Tapiecitas, N.M. A resident for 32 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Adela Oglesby of Livingston, La., and Senaida Lucero of Henderson; four sons, Julian Garcia of Los Alamos, N.M., Fidel Garcia of Richmond, Calif., Tony R. Garcia of Las Vegas and Anselmo Garcia of Henderson; three brothers, Sofio Valdez of Santa Fe, N.M., and Ignacio Valdez and Max Valdez, both of Chama, N.M.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

JOAN ANTOINETTE GEORGE

Joan Antoinette George, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born July 1, 1929, in Los Angeles. A resident for eight years, she was a clerical supervisor for the state of California for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Dowe E.

MARGURIETE ANTOINETTE GODDARD

Marguriete Antoinette Goddard, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1946, in Kirksville, Mo. A resident for seven years, she was a legal secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; two daughters, Kerri Arellano and Rhayme Goddard, both of Las Vegas; one son, Jeffrey T. Ek of Chicago; one brother, Charles March of Joplin, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.

SID GUTIERREZ

Sid Gutierrez, 12, of Las Vegas died July 2 in Mexico. He was born Sept. 18, 1985, in Burbank, Calif. A resident for 10 years, he was a student.

He is survived by his parents, Consuelo Leyva Gutierrez and Ruben Gutierrez, one sister, Sabrina Gutierrez, and one brother, Christopher Gutierrez, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Racquel and Francisco Leyva of Mexico.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

PEARL HOFFENBLUM

Pearl Hoffenblum, 83, of Las Vegas died Thursday. She was born July 20, 1914, in San Francisco. A resident for 31 years, she was a retired supervisor for a food demonstrating company.

She is survived by two sons, Herold Hoffenblum of Las Vegas and Buddy Hoffenblum of Vallejo, Calif.; one brother, Benny Laub of Gering, Neb.; one sister, Celia Kramer of Vallejo; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main.

HELEN NORDENBERG HOLMES

Helen Nordenberg Holmes, 79, of Mesquite died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in New York City. A resident for 10 years, she was a dressmaker.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin; two daughters, Constance Oliviero of Mesquite and Denise Steinmacher of New York; one son, Theodore MacDurmon of New York; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until a 7 p.m. service today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A private burial will follow.

CLAUDE I. HOWARD

Claude I. Howard, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1905, in Bakersfield, Calif. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired builder and a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners.

He is survived by one niece, Suzanne York of Montrose, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

EDWARD JONES SR.

Edward Jones Sr., 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 2, 1932, in Arkansas. A resident for eight years, he was a veteran.

He is survived by six sons, Edward Jones Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., Kenneth Jones, Aaron Jones and Raymond Jones, all of Los Angeles, and Willie Chambers and Bryon Chambers, both of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Vivian Davis and Marie Hamm, both of Los Angeles; one brother, Sherman Jones of Los Angeles; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

LEE DEE KIRBY

Lee Dee Kirby, 55, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. A resident for 24 years, he was a senior field representative for city government.

He is survived by his wife, Martha.

Services will be 5 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Peter LaPorta, 49, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 28, 1948, in New York. A resident for 14 years, he was a health inspector.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie; and one sister, Frances Balistrere of New York.

Leona I. Malinski, 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1925, in Weyerhaeuser, Wis. A resident for 3 1/2 years, she was a retired payroll executive for an electronics company.

She is survived by her husband, Norbert J.; two sons, James A. Malinski of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Ronald N. Malinski of Las Vegas; one sister, Estelle Starsiak of Naperville, Ill.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

TREVA A. MUSGROVE

Treva A. Musgrove, 93, of Henderson died Tuesday. She was born Nov. 25, 1904, in North English, Iowa. A resident for 37 years, she was a retired hotel room inspectress.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Leggett of Henderson, Sandra Berner of Los Alamos, N.M., and Janyce Fellendorf of Victoria, British Columbia; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

RICHARD MASEK

Richard Masek, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired principal of North Ninth Street, Doris Hancock and O.K. Adcock elementary schools, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Humane Society and Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the founder of Reading Clinic of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine; and one son, Marshall Masek of Las Vegas.

WILLIAM O'MARA

William O'Mara, 67, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born May 28, 1931, in Syracuse, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired casino floorman and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; one sister, Ann Sweeney of North Syracuse, N.Y.; and one brother, Edward O'Mara of Weymouth, Mass.

She is survived by her husband, A.J.; her mother, Bui Diu of Henderson; six brothers, Nguyen Thu Van of Henderson, Nguyen Khoa Van of Anaheim, Calif., Nguyen Bang Van of San Diego, Nguyen Khanh Tuan of Orange County, Calif., and Nguyen Vuong Tuan of Los Angeles; and three sisters, Nguyen Yen and Nguyen Huong, both of Henderson, and Nguyen Tram of Oklahoma.

Richard A. Roberts, 70, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1927, in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. A resident for six years, he was a customs inspector and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Andre Roberts; two brothers, Franklin Daniels and Quinton Roberts; two sisters, Emelda and Olga Hallwood; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jaime S. Ulanday, 46, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born Feb. 16, 1952, in the Philippines. A resident for 21 months, he was a newspaper printer.

He is survived by his wife, Susie; three daughters, Nicolette, Stephanie and Chrystal; one son, Joel; one brother, Jose Ulanday; and two sisters, Lillian DeGuia and Meriam Davis.
