Letter: Program needed to penalize handicap parking cheats

How would he like it, if it were his parents, wife, or child who just had surgery or has a permanent injury? If a walker or wheelchair-dependent person was forced to park where Constantine felt they should be, there would be more injuries happening in the parking lot. The disabled can not act on a quick response, while struggling to walk or wheel themselves to their destination. There are many blind spots in parking lots.

I can't belive he is expecting the care-givers whom are transporting the blind and the hearing-impaired people to walk long distances. There are many people plagued with life-threatening disabilities, who don't appear to look disabled, but they are entitled to utilize a handicapped placard.

This program is going to be able to stop the cheaters who use handicap placards illegally. People without a disability that borrow a handicap placard from a family member whom is disabled are illegally using the placard, unless the disabled person is the driver or transporting the disabled passenger. They will be fined $100 to $1,000. I am glad the court system is taking this program seriously.

I would love to jump with joy and run up and give them a great big hug for their efforts, if I could walk. My last comment to Bill Constantine, thank your lucky stars you can walk. I see you have taken your legs for granted.
