Monti Calvert, 44, entered his plea on Tuesday and will be sentenced Sept. 10 by Washoe District Judge Janet Berry.
He could get life or 10-25 years. In either case, parole is possible after 10 years.
Calvert said his co-defendant, David Scott, 32, shot 42-year-old Lance Grochowsky over an ongoing dispute. He said the two then set the victim afire 35 miles north of Reno.
Scott has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
