Los Angeles man pleads guilty in Las Vegas

Abe Silfani, 45, entered the plea Wednesday before U.S. District Judge Philip Pro. Silfani admitted selling counterfeit traveler's checks in 1996 to an undercover FBI agent and a government informant.

Six other defendants in the case face murder charges in connection with the January 1997 shooting death of mob associate Herbert "Fat Herbie" Blitzstein.

As part of his plea agreement, prosecutors have agreed to dismiss the other charges Silfani faced, including money laundering and fraud charges.

The plea bargain calls for Silfani to receive a minimum prison sentence of two years.
