Fishing Report -- July 30, 1998

LAKE MEAD: Boaters continue to find good action for striped bass while shore anglers are having only mediocre success, according to the Nevada Division of Wildlife. The better areas for stripers continue to be Fire and Salt bays in the Overton Arm and from Pyramid Island to the Hemenway Wall in the Boulder Basin. Fish are being caught with plugs during the early morning and evening hours and deep with baits during the day.

LAKE MOHAVE: Recent plants have produced good fishing for rainbow trout at Willow Beach while striped bass continue to be caught by boaters above Cottonwood Cove. Anglers report they are still finding fair numbers of stripers in the 13- to 14-inch range from the north power lines to Owls Point.
