Council nixes activist's call for cell phone probe

Activist David Farside wanted an audit of Breslow's use of his cell phone, a procedure for restitution and consideration of whether the mayor should even have the phone.

The Council voted 4-1 against the proposal Tuesday night, saying Breslow has already turned in his phone and has repaid the $257.52 he said he ran up for personal calls over his seven years as mayor.

Councilman Tony Armstrong cast the lone dissenting vote, saying an audit would clear Breslow's name. Farside said he's not finished yet. Breslow said he has more important things to worry about.
