Letter: Government beginning to increase its control in our lives

Then, there's Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. He is running his mouth off in some other country instead of being in Washington, working for the people of his state, which he was elected to do.

Then, for the last four years or so, I have read about the president going after Joe Camel and retiring him. Now I hear the president and Congress want to control the tobacco companies. And if the children haven't stopped smoking in five years, they are going to fine the tobacco companies.

Today, I read about the doctors in Washington, D.C., claiming that obesity is ruining the health of the American people.

I say, you had better look out, Pillsbury Dough Boy, Burger King, Jack in the Box, Ronald McDonald and even you, Wendy. You are corrupting our children. The government will be taking you to court, and you will never be able to use your logos again and you will be blamed for all those overweight deaths.

And, if in five years there isn't a crop of skinny kids, you will be fined. The government will make you raise your prices so the public can't afford you.

Just think about it: The government will control what you put in your body, you will no longer be allowed to make your own choices. Now we are on the road to dictatorship.
