Police officer wins $100,000 in fast food contest

Sgt. Jay Bruner made daily trips to the Wendy's on Idaho Street to participate in its "Go for the Goal" contest.

By scratching off the correct hockey puck on gamecards included with every purchase, customers had a chance of winning cash prizes or trucks.

Bruner will pick up a check for $100,000 and gold-plated hockey pucks Tuesday at the Wendy's in Elko.

Co-workers say winning the cash prize hasn't seemed to change Bruner, but he now seems to have more friends.
