Car dealerships: Two-week GM strike hasn't hurt yet

Negotiators ended talks Saturday with no agreement. The strike is costing GM millions of dollars and idling tens of thousands of workers.
"For cars, it won't affect us until the first of the year," said Garry Smith, sales manager at Champion Chevrolet-Geo in Reno. "We have 600 new vehicles on the lot. I'm a little concerned the new 1999 trucks might be delayed."
At Valley Chevrolet, Pontiac in Carson City, manager Stewart Evans said the strike wouldn't affect him before Labor Day since he has a 150-day inventory.
