Letter: Americans can't let liberties be chipped away

Could you imagine after Pearl Harbor the Japanese " suggesting" to the United States to install giant trigger locks on our battleships (for our children of course)? Does this sound absurd? No more absurd than a hostile, liberal media working hand-in-glove with anti-American subversives to disarm this nation.

We are told that the liberals only want to make guns safer by having trigger locks. But remember initially they only wanted a waiting period. Will they stop after they get this legislation passed? What do you think?

Honest, responsible Americans will never win this psychological war of attrition providing we allow our liberties to be chipped away one inch at a time. Don't take the C.A.R. to disaster (Compromise-Appeasement-Retreat).

Remember the Aesop's Fable of the mighty lion that was talked into clipping its claws and filing its teeth down in order to make it a "kinder-gentler" animal. Once the lion submitted to this he was neutralized and promptly treated with sneering contempt by the same animals that talked him into it in the first place.

The United States is a mighty lion that is losing its claws one by one. I suggest you had better find out if I'm telling you the truth before you lose your right to own a handgun. If you find out afterwards (and you will) it will be too late.
