Man shot to death near downtown

Metro Police believe the gunman who killed a man off Cervantes Street and Ogden Avenue, near Fremont Street, fled the area in a low-riding light blue Chevy.

Patrol officers responding to a report of shots fired found the victim on the sidewalk . Investigators determined the man was walking west along Ogden when he was confronted by an unknown number of people in the Chevy.

Police believe the gunman got out of the car and shot the victim with a handgun. The victim's identity was not released this morning.
