Mandalay Bay names entertainment vice president

Medas will oversee a 12,000-seat sports and entertainment complex, a House of Blues club and restaurant, a 1,700-seat showroom, several lounges and stages.
A veteran of the entertainment industry for 18 years, Medas has served as vice president of entertainment for MGM Grand and director of entertainment for Bally's hotel-casino.
The $950-million, 3,700-room Mandalay Bay is scheduled to open in March 1999 at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip.
