Ensign wants accounting of Red Rock user fees

Ensign, R-Nev., said he has been told some of the fees may be going improperly toward salaries for BLM employees.

The fees are meant to help maintain and improve the scenic area west of Las Vegas, and those who pay the fees should see the results, Ensign said.

Ensign said Tuesday he has written BLM Director Pat Shea asking for a full accounting of the fees and expressing concern they are supplementing employee salaries.
