Letter: Hooray for responsible fathers, and for dual-role mothers, too

Yes, I get child support and yes, my son sees his father twice to three times a week, but my son has me now as his role model because he lives mostly with me. We moms must teach our sons to be sensitive yet sincere, loving yet knowing what commitment means.

We hold the next generation of fathers in our hands. We must teach our sons the value of what a family is, even though ours has changed. We must teach them there is more to being a family than just "child support." I know we can create a better man than what so many of these boys are looking at.

I think we can meet this challenge head on and make a new generation of men. Happy Father's Day to all! You too, Dad. I wish I would have married someone like you. I miss you.
