Man admits role in slaying of Las Vegas mob figure

Joseph DeLuca, 41, reported the killing to police on Jan. 7, 1997, and later attended Blitzstein's funeral in Chicago.
In August, he admitted helping the killers gain entry to Blitzstein's Las Vegas home. He also admitted helping pay for the job.
DeLuca pleaded guilty to one count of participating in an enterprise engaged in racketeering activity, including Blitzstein's slaying.
He is to cooperate with prosecutors under terms of the guilty plea.
The original indictment in the case accused only Las Vegas residents Peter Caruso, 59, and Alfred Mauriello, 71, of participating in what authorities have described as a contract killing.
Murder-for-hire charges later were added against Antone Davi, 30, of Henderson; Richard Friedman, 56, of Las Vegas; Robert Panaro Sr., 56, of Henderson, and Stephen Cino, 60, of Las Vegas.
