Obituaries for June 23, 1998

Elizabeth Reese Anderson, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday at a local hospital. She was born Dec. 4, 1917, in Utah. A resident of 15 years, she was a homemaker and worked at a senior citizen center.

She is survived by four sons, Wayne Anderson and Arland Anderson, both of Las Vegas, Vern Anderson of Mesa, Ariz., and Mont Anderson of Pahrump; six sisters, Kathy Brinkerhoff and Nada Spencer, both of Glendale, Utah, Lila Anderson of Richfield, Utah, Ruby Swapp of Phoenix, Annabelle Brinkerhoff of St. George, Utah, and Helen Jensen of Cedar City, Utah; two brothers, Clinton Reese of Corona, Calif., and Lawrence Reese of Kanab, Utah; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bunkers Chapel. Another visitation will be 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday with an 11:00 service at Christy and Kell LDS Chapel. The burial will be in Utah.

GUILBERT BANKS

Guilbert Banks, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday at a local care center. He was born Feb. 6, 1939, in Mississippi. A resident of five years, he was a computer programmer and a member of the Las Vegas Computer Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Margaret Houtz of Los Angeles and Kristin Bands of Petaluma, Calif.; and one grandchild.

LINDA L. EURICH

Linda L. Eurich, 47, of Las Vegas died Thursday at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1950, in Elk City, Okla. A resident for 29 years, she was a court transcriptionist.

She is survived by her husband, Richard N.; two sons, Richard N. Eurich II and Michael J. Eurich, her mother, R. Elouise Hill of Las Vegas and one brother, Brad Davis, all of Las Vegas.

Services will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

CORINNE M. GIECK

Corinne M. Gieck, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 13, 1936, in New Jersey. A resident of 17 years, she was an employee at Las Vegas High School.

She is survived by her husband, Marc Gieck; one son, Carmine Gieck of Las Vegas; three daughters, Theresa Whirry of New Mexico, Victoria Burchett of Missouri and Annmarie Brown of Las Vegas; one brother, John Welsh of Nebraska; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be noon Friday at Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

HUGH J. GOULDING SR.

Hugh J. Goulding Sr., 78, died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Chicago. A resident of 22 years, he was an aerospace engineer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Hugh Goulding Jr. of Utah and Thomas Goulding of Massachusetts; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Memorial Chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Graveside services will be 9:15 a.m. Friday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

ROBERT HOLLY

Robert Holly, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Hardy, Neb. A resident of 37 years, he was a retired landscape supervisor, a World War II Navy veteran and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, one daughter, Patricia Buck, three sons, Robert Holly, Mark Holly and Todd Holly, and one sister, Joy Holly Kean, all of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren.

Visitations will be 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. services Wednesday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

HARRY MARCUS

Harry Marcus, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 1, 1916, in New York City. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired owner of a sewing machine and vacuum sales and repair business.

He is survived one daughter, Anna Easterling of Danville, Calif.; one sister, Marilyn Saloman of Murrieta Hot Springs, Calif; one brother, Jerry Marcus of Houston; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Services were scheduled today at 11:30 a.m. at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

CORINNE ANN MASSEY

Corinne Ann Massey, 98, of Las Vegas died Monday at a local hospice. She was born Feb. 5, 1900, in Jameson, Mo. A resident of five years, she was a retired seamstress in the fashion industry.

She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Troxel of Las Vegas and Lawrence Troxel of Wildwood Fla.; two sisters, Alpha Boyer of Gilman City, Mo., and Leland Dunnuck of Shawnee Mission, Kan.

Visitation will continue until 5 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

DONALD T. MILLER

Donald T. Miller, 58, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 8, 1939, in Pennsylvania. A resident of 10 years, he was a truck driver and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Christian; and three sisters, Patricia Miller of Oregon, Deborah Christian and Babbs Christian, both of California.

BETTY PORTICE

Betty Portice, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Michigan. A resident of two years, she was an optical secretary.

She is survived by her son, Donald Portice; and three grandchildren.

FREDDIE LEE RIDLEY

Freddie Lee Ridley, 51, of Las Vegas died June 14 in Carson City. He was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 41 years, he was a waiter in a hotel restaurant.

He is survived by two sons, Freddie Ridley and Ryan Ridley, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Melissa Ridley of Las Vegas and Kim Ridley of Los Angeles; his mother, Erma T. Singleton of Las Vegas; three brothers, Larry Ridley of Tallulah and John Ridley and Charles Singleton, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Lurene Jordan and Janet Singleton, both of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

SHIRLIE KATHRYN ROBINSON

Shirlie Kathryn Robinson, 86, of Las Vegas died June 12, in Las Vegas. She was born March 18, 1912, in Canada. A resident of 20 years, she was a registered nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth.

LEOLA SEEDIG

Leola Seedig, 69, of Henderson died Sunday at a local hospice. She was born July 26, 1928, in Genola, Utah. A resident of 41 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Adolph Seedig; three sons, Troy Johnson of Boulder City and Wayne Beck and Greg Beck, both of Henderson; two sisters Voilet Nielsen and Venice Young, both of Payson, Utah; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

WILLIAM STACEY

William Stacey, 72, of North Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Altoona, Pa. A resident of 30 years, he was a retired Air Force staff sergeant, a World War II and Korean War veteran and a member of Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J.; his son, Dan Meader of Las Vegas; two daughters, Cheryl Trousdale of Las Vegas and Tina Meader of North Las Vegas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10:45 a.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

RALPH SAMUEL WILKERSON

Ralph Samuel Wilkerson, 62, of Las Vegas died June 16 in Las Vegas. He was born May 18, 1936, in St. Louis. A resident of four years, he was an auto dealer.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Wilkerson, and one son, Brandon Wilkerson, both of San Diego; one brother, Frank Wilkerson of Vancouver, Wash.; four sisters, Helen Coleman of Pahrump, Earlene Hale and Sylvia Hendricks, both of Las Vegas, and Estie Apallo of Texas.
