Former Yucca Mountain driller files lawsuit

Claude Byrns, 43, of Las Vegas, filed suit in U.S. District Court Tuesday against Kiewit Mining Group and Parson Brinkerhoff Group Administration. The two are Energy Department contractors at Yucca Mountain, where tests are underway to determine the suitability of the site for a nuclear waste repository.
Byrns' lawsuit also names three miners - William Swena, Leo Lujan and Patrick McBride -- as defendants.
Byrns said in the lawsuit that he was the subject of sexual advances and was fired while hospitalized for treatment of the trauma and injury from those advances.
Project manager Tina Limon declined comment on the allegations.
