Letter: Ringling Bros. should retire old and ailing circus elephant

Ringling Bros. public relations people will be the first ones to say how much they love and care for the animals stuck in their care. After all these years of faithful "service," doesn't King Tusk deserve to be retired to a few acres of land where he can roam free of chains and not have to be loaded in and out of a truck every few days?

Seems to me if you really cared about him, this would have been done years ago. King Tusk needs to be retired now before he dies in the back of a truck like so many do. Hasn't he earned his freedom yet?
