Letter: Taxpayer doesn't appreciate seeing his money put into Starr's probe

As a taxpayer, I am upset about how much money and time our government is wasting on independent counsel Kenneth Starr's investigation into the president's sex life. I could care less, and really do not want to know; it's Clinton's personal business.

Starr spent more than $40 million on his soap opera, and that is enough That money could and should have been spent on more important issues. I think Starr likes the attention the news media is giving him.

He is now leaking confidential grand jury information to the news media on his vendetta to embarrass the president politically.

The American people should call for a stop to Starr's defaming soap box antics, and let the president concentrate on the important issues such as: national defense, crime, social security and Medicare.

Lastly, let's not forget the "Notch Fairness Act," created to remedy the plight of seniors. In 1977 congress revised the computation formula for Social Security benefits to reflect the annual cost of living. They blew it. Now is the time to remedy this costly mistake against our seniors and make it right, and stop wasting our tax dollars on frivolous witch hunts.
