Wheelchair-bound man dies after falling into Lake Mead

The 24-year-old man, who was not immediately identified, went off a dock into the water about 11 a.m. Marina and local divers went into the water and pulled him back on the dock and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the park service said.

The man was transported by emergency medical helicopter to Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, where he was pronounced dead at 12:17 p.m.

The park service said the man was a resident of a group home on an outing to Lake Mead.
