Youth dies in blaze in Logandale mobile home

18-year-old Zane Healey died in Sunday's pre-dawn blaze.

Clark County Fire Department spokesman Bob Leinbach said it appears the fire started from the careless handling of a heat source. He said the heat source has not been determined.

Healey, who was a pitcher on the Moapa Valley High School baseball team, was staying in a mobile home that belonged to his aunt, Kim Healey.

Leinbach said Kim Healey was sleeping in the bedroom of the mobile home and wasn't aware that the teen-ager was in the structure.

Kim Healey awoke to smoke and flames and was able to escape through a side door. The teen-ager's body was found in the hallway of the mobile home.
