Bartender bound, killed

A female bartender at Doc Holidays across the street from Angel Park was bound and killed execution style early today, Metro Police said.

The 31-year old bartender was found tied up behind the bar at the tavern at Westcliff and Durango drives after a man called police to report a gray Cadillac without its lights on leaving the parking lot, homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen said.

Two to three men were in the car, according to the police report. The woman had been shot in the back of the head, the report said.

"The witness thought it was unusual," he said. "He called the bar. There was no answer."

Patrol officers arrived and found the doors locked. The 24-hour bar has a buzzer system to allow customers in at night, Petersen said.
