Former Arizona detective arrested

A former narcotics detective with the Pima County Sheriff's Office remained in the Clark County Detention Center late Monday awaiting extradition to Tucson, Ariz., where he is wanted for $800,000 in narcotics related charges.

Jesus Celaya was arrested without incident Saturday morning at his home near Lake Mead Boulevard and Buffalo Drive after being served warrants by detectives from Metro Police's fugitive detail and agents from the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Sgt. Ted Snodgrass of Metro's career criminal section said the narcotics-related charges were linked to various improprieties that occurred while Celaya was working as a detective in Tucson.
