Harter dismisses rating given university provost

More than 200 professors and professional staff responded to the survey, with 70 percent saying they did not think Ferraro was doing an excellent job.

The survey was circulated to some 1,300 staff by the Nevada Faculty Alliance. It asked whether they agreed or disagreed with the statement: "Overall, the provost's performance is excellent."

Fifty-one percent of those responding said they strongly disagreed and 19 percent said they disagreed.

"I really didn't pay attention to it," Harter said Monday of the survey. "I don't really give it much credence."

She was critical of the survey because the responses were anonymous.

"You can't hide behind anonymity when your goal is to have meaningful input," she said.
