Letter: U.S. should dictate Middle East peace terms

The U.S. acceptance of Israel rejection for the proposal on pullback is total nonsense. The United States is in a position to dictate peace in the Middle East and always has been.

Israel should be told to accept and implement the proposal or face immediate termination of U.S. aid and face a potential embargo. A similar approach should be taken with Arafat. Israeli response -- positive -- would be immediate.

It is conceivable that the United States is not eager for peace in the Middle East, which would lower the potential for regional unrest and impact domestic defense spending.
