Alonzo E. "Brown" Booker, 53, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 5, 1945, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 35 years, he was a construction roofer.

He is survived by his mother, Eliza Jackson of North Las Vegas; eight sisters, Ruby Williams and Hattie Sheppard, both of San Bernardino, Calif., Eliza Rone and Margaret Booker, both of North Las Vegas, Helen Jackson, Sherrie Dotson and Valorie Jackson, all of Las Vegas, and Thelma Solomon of Pomona, Calif.; six brothers, David Ruffin of Pomona, James Scott of Portland, Ore., Plas Booker, Charlie Jackson and Luther Jackson, all of Las Vegas; a godsister, Norrisse Rone of Las Vegas; his fiancee, Vanessia Harris, and three stepsons, Taurence Harris, Alvin Harris and James Harris, all of North Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

DEE BOYLE

Dee Boyle, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 17, 1910, in Hartington, Neb. A resident for 53 years, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Grand International Auxiliary, an officer of the organization for 30 years, and a member of the Challenger Club.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Williams of Las Vegas, and two grandchildren.

The family suggests contributions to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson St.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Burial will be at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

RONALD CALHOUN

Ronald Calhoun, 70, of Las Vegas died April 16 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 11, 1927. He was a one-year resident.

A graveside service was scheduled at Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery.

SELMA CHERROFF

Selma Cherroff, 87, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born April 11, 1911, in New York City. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; two sons, Robert Cherroff of Cucamonga, Calif., and Steven Cherroff of Fort Collins, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

LIBORIO A. CLEMENTE

Liborio A. Clemente, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 8, 1925, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired switchman, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and worked as a volunteer at Desert Springs Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene; two daughters, Jackie Clemente of Las Vegas and Lesa Clemente of the Bronx; a son, Daniel Clemente of Franklin, Tenn.; a sister, Marie Maggi of Staten Island, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to cancer research.

MARY FORD

Mary Ford, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born April 26, 1921, in Elyria, Ohio. A resident for six years, she was a restaurateur.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Thomas Ford of Las Vegas and Kenneth Michael Ford of Parma, Ohio; a daughter, Marilyn Sue Ford of Las Vegas; a brother, George Brlas of Wellingon, Ohio; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests contributions to the Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

Services are 6:30 p.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

MARGARET M. FRIEDMAN

Margaret M. Friedman, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Ohio. A resident for 35 years, she was a cocktail waitress.

She is survived by her brother, John Sabo of Monroe, Mich.; and two sisters, Elizabeth Mickens of Northwood, Ohio, and Velma Kutsch of Oregon, Ohio.

ALFRED PACHECO GASTELUM

Alfred Pacheco Gastelum, 83, of Pahrump died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1915, in Arizona. A resident since 1976, he was a painter for the city and an Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion posts in Pahrump, Montebello, Calif., and East Los Angeles, the VFW post in Pahrump and Cadets of America in East Los Angeles.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dora M.; a son, Alfred Richard Gastelum of Pahrump; a brother, Tony Gastelum of Mexicali, Mexico; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

RAYMOND GRANDA

Raymond Granda, 49, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 14, 1948, in Detroit. A resident for 36 years, he was a construction electrician, a Vietnam War Army veteran and a member of the Electricians Union.

He is survived by his father, Richard, and mother, Agnes; and four sisters, Sharon Fuller of California, Deborah Rachal, Laurie Ackers and Diana House.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sunrise South Baptist Church, 1780 Betty Lane. Desert Memorial handled arrangements.

ROSE MARIE IRIBARREN

Rose Marie Iribarren, 61, of Overton died Monday in a Las Vegas hospice. She was born Aug. 3, 1936, in Missouri. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, John P.; two sons, John M. Iribarren of Wyoming and Joseph Iribarren of Las Vegas; three daughters, Angela Hoover of Wyoming, Lisa Iribarren of Overton and Michelle Staltore of Henderson; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

WILLIAM HOLLY JEBB

William Holly Jebb, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1921, in Detroit. A resident since 1981, he was a banker and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two sons, Wesley Jebb and Robert Jebb; two daughters, Holly Jebb and Carrie LeMasters; and four grandchildren.

JOSEPH O. JOHNSON

Joseph O. Johnson, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Latrobe, Pa. A resident for four years, he was a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Solometta A.; a daughter, Dawn Johnson-Petty of New York; a brother, James Johnson of Indiana, Pa.; and one grandchild.

Eddie Lee Jolley, 29, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 30, 1968, in Florida. A resident for six years, he worked in hotel human resources.

He is survived by two brothers, Gene Jolley of Vermont and Tony Jolley of New Hampshire; and a sister, Cindy Brown of Florida.

MARC ALLEN KNOCH

Marc Allen Knoch, 37, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 2, 1960, in Colorado. A resident for two years, he was a telecommunications electrician and a member of the Electricians Union.

He is survived by a son, Russ Knoch of Three Rivers, Calif.; two brothers, Weslie Knoch of Apple Valley, Calif., and Douglas Knoch of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a sister, Tina Massaro of Grand Junction, Colo.

NOEL A. NORMAN

Noel A. Norman, 48, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 24, 1949, in Havre, Mont. He came to Las Vegas as a child, graduated from Valley High School and attended the University of Nevada, Reno and UNLV. He served in the Navy on the USS Galveston and the USS Long Beach during the Vietnam War. He was an accountant.

He is survived by his mother, Neosha B. Norman of Las Vegas; two uncles LaVern Norman and Layne Norman; several cousins and many friends.

A graveside service was scheduled at 11:30 a.m. today at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

MARTIN OMAR PALOMARES A K A RODRIGUEZ

Martin Omar Palomares, a k a Rodriguez, 27, of Las Vegas died April 16 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 14, 1970, in Mexico. A longtime resident, he was a construction worker.

He is survived by his mother, Fransica Rodriguez of Mexico, and his brother, Fransico Rodriguez of Las Vegas.

Burial will be in Mexico. Hites Funeral Services handled local arrangements.

ROBERT H. ROSS

Robert H. Ross, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 31, 1917, in Illinois. A resident for three years, he was an an accountant and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine Marie; two sons, Robert C. Ross of California and John M. Ross of Las Vegas; two daughters, Rosemarie Murphy of California and Suzanne Farace of Las Vegas; a sister, Doris Ezrig of Illinois; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

BARBARA CATHRINE "BERTHA" RUBY

Barbara Cathrine "Bertha" Ruby, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 26, 1903, in Belle Vernon, Pa. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ruby of Las Vegas; two sons, Joseph Ruby of Pittsburgh and Louis Charles Samonsky of Ventura, Calif.; a sister, Mary Toth of Perryopolis, Pa.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

GEORGE N. SAUNDERS

George N. Saunders, 82, of Las Vegas died May 6 in Holladay, Utah. He was born June 19, 1915, in Canada. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Masons, Shriners and Fleet Reserve.

He is survived by three sons, Kirk Saunders, Bruce Saunders and Mike Saunders, all of Salt Lake City, and a daughter, Sharon Tuttle of New Jersey.

The family suggests contributions to Shriners Primary Children's Hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

GLENN E. "JIM" THAYER JR.

Glenn E. "Jim" Thayer Jr., 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 19, 1911, in Ralston, Okla. A resident since 1978, he was a retired baker, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of American Legion Post 8 and Nellis Masonic Lodge 46.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M.; two daughters, Jane Ford of Las Vegas and Jacque Thomas of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Joseph R. Thayer of Virginia Beach, Va.; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

EMERSON WRIGHT

Emerson Wright, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Petaluma, Calif. He was county clerk of Alameda County and a member of Musicians Local 6.

He is survived by a niece, Joan W. Ponticello of Las Vegas.
