Letter: Frequent visitor warns of Mount Charleston development

On our recent trip to your beautiful Mount Charleston, we were surprised to see a golf course, putting green and several buildings being built. We were told of the owner's plans for more development across the street. I am still shocked over this.

I would think the people of Las Vegas would want to keep this pristine retreat just that -- for themselves and for future generations. I am from Southern California, and I can tell you that our recreational forested parks are commercialized, overrun with trash, cars and loud noise.

I love Las Vegas, but boy, are you making a mistake.
