Edward W. Barry, 100, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 24, 1897, in St. Louis. A resident of Boulder City for 10 years and a resident of Henderson for 50 years, he was a retired self-employed hairdresser and a World War I Army veteran.

He is survived by one granddaughter, Renee Trumbo Vincent, and one grandson, Kirby Trumbo, both of Henderson; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by graveside services in Boulder City Cemetery.

RICHARD E. BUTTS

Richard E. Butts, 66, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. He was born July 17, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired newspaper typesetter and a World War II Navy and Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gerry L.; three sons, Rick Butts of North Las Vegas and Greg Butts and Tim Butts, both of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m-12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

LUCY CARBONE

Lucy Carbone, 90, of Las Vegas died May 3 in a local hospice. She was born March 2, 1908, in Astoria, N.Y. A resident for two years, she was a retired employee of Triboro Bus Corporation of New York.

She is survived by one sister, Eleanor Greco of Florida; five nieces, Elizabeth Carbellano of Las Vegas, Joyce Kahn of Arizona and Margaret Alifano, Rose Sepe and Joyce Marchetti, all of New York; and six nephews, Ralph Depasla of New York and Anthony Greco, Thomas Greco, Nicholas Sepe, Joseph Sepe and Joseph Palmese, all of Florida.

Services are private. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

LINDA CAROLE COX

Linda Carole Cox, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1945, in Lindsay, Calif. A resident for four years, she was a real estate agent.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Mason of Durham, N.C.; her father, Warren Mason of Cottage Grove, Ore.; two sisters, Tonya Cox of Tulare, Calif., and Dawna Marez of Guam; one brother, Terry Mason of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Renee T. Ellis, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born Jan. 25, 1931, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired bookkeeper for a vending machine company and a member of the Mah Jongg Club.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; one daughter, Karen Sirois of Allen Park, Mich.; one son, Jay Eisenberg of Los Angeles; one brother, Sheldon Dulberg of Farmington Hills, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Helen G. Ferguson, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born March 2, 1923, in Bernalillo, N.M. A resident for 31 years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by her husband, Lowell; one daughter, Barbara J. Ferguson of Las Vegas; three sisters, Stella Ostic of Albuquerque, N.M., Bertila Gutierrez of Bernalillo and Francis Aguilar of Paramount, Calif.; and one brother, Ralph Gutierrez of El Sobrante, Calif.

Janet E. Fox, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Dawn Streaker of Henderson; one son, Curtis Fox of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

AFTON 'BERNICE' LINGE GILBERT

Afton "Bernice" Linge Gilbert, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in St. George, Utah. She was born May 8, 1916, in Mesquite. A resident for 77 years, she was a clerk at Gilbert Bros. Market and active in the LDS Relief Society and Primary.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harry V.T.; two sons, William Gilbert of Las Vegas and Steve Gilbert of Toquerville, Utah; one daughter, Margie Harward of Salina, Utah; one brother, Robert Linge of Boulder City; one sister, Eula Bowen of Springdale, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Wednesday in the Red Coach LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

GALE F. GRUDIER

Gale F. Grudier, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Dec. 25, 1913, in Ritchie, W.Va. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired automotive service manager and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; one son, Dwight Grudier of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

PHYLLIS HEBDA

Phyllis Hebda, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1915, in Steger, Ill. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Stanley Hebda Jr. of Pearl City, Hawaii; two brothers, Paul DeFrancesco of Las Vegas and John DeFrancesco of Jupiter, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Rodneisha P. Kennedy, died April 18, her date of birth, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Antoinette Smith, and her grandparents, Willie Mae and James Wade, Julia Mae Whitmire and Philip Coleman, all of Las Vegas; and her great-grandmother, Matilda Kennedy.

Private services were at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

BEATRICE LEON

Beatrice Leon, 83, of Boulder City died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born June 30, 1914, in West Virginia. A resident for 21 years, she was a retired medical secretary and a member of the Boulder City Christian Center.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Ted Leon of Henderson and Anthony D. Leon Jr. of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the Boulder City Christian Center on Adams Boulevard. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

CLAUDE L. LEWIS

Claude L. Lewis, 88, of Henderson died Friday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 4, 1909, in Lewiston, Utah. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired city of Henderson building inspector for many years and active in the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife, Flurette; five daughters, Claudean Garner of Magna, Utah, Wynette Searle of El Segundo, Calif., Renae Lewis of Golden, Colo., Marie Alleman of Elko and Deborah Smart of Salt Lake City; two sons, Neal C. Lewis of St. Louis and Rex Lewis of Modesto, Calif.; one stepson, William G. Balfour Jr. of Henderson; 41 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10:30 a.m. services in the Cholla Street LDS Chapel.

Frank E. Marchant, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 12, 1917, in Erie, Pa. A resident for 33 years, he was a stagehand at Bally's hotel-casino and a member of Stagehands Local 720.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; two sons, David Marchant of Las Vegas and Maury Marchant of Park City, Utah; two daughters, Maryann Down of Las Vegas and Laura Schlotter of San Diego; one brother, Vinny Marchant, and one sister, Marian Schriefer, both of Erie; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 5 p.m. rosary in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.

Michael J. Perno, 28, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born July 3, 1969, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a supervisor in the health care industry.

He is survived by his parents, Carol and Mike Perno, and one sister, Joy Gold, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Frieda and William Rouw of Las Vegas and Anna Perno of Absecon, N.J.

Visitation is scheduled noon until a 3 p.m. memorial service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will be 5 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens.

Shirley A. Potter, 62, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Brownstown, Ill. A resident for 18 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by one daughter, Terri Busby of Rosepine, La.; her mother, Ruth Neeley of Vandalis, Ill.; one son, Edward Potter of Las Vegas; four sisters, Janet Smith and Wilma Richards, both of Vandalia, and Donna Mae Weber and Jeannie Lofland, both of Decatur, Ill.; and one grandchild.

Jim Reynolds, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born May 18, 1925, in Philadelphia. A resident for eight years, he was a retired police officer and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; one son, James Reynolds III, and one daughter, Patricia Trock, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Lillian Scales of Philadelphia; and six grandchildren.

Mass was scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church, followed by graveside services. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.

Helen M. Sabraw, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born Aug. 13, 1911, in Stoughton, Wis. A resident for three years, she was a retired sales representative in the film industry.

She is survived by two sons, Mark Sabraw of Henderson and John Sabraw of Mesquite; one sister, Doris Rohrbach of Fayetteville, Ark.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Justin Eric Smith, 18, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 25, 1979, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a pizza deliverer, a 1997 high school graduate, a member of Order of the Arrow and a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his parents, Christopher and Barbara Smith, three sisters, Tammy Smith, Shawna Smith and Marlena Smith, and two brothers, Benjamin Smith and Spencer Smith, all of Las Vegas; his grandparents, Leland and MaryAn Holaday of Las Vegas, Richard P. Smith of Colorado, and Edith M. Smith of Utah; and his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Holaday of Las Vegas.

David John Winter, 50, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 22, 1947, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 18 years, he was a security guard and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Venna; three daughters, Wendy Guay of Salt Lake City and Shelly Taylor and Heather Winter, both of Las Vegas; one son, John Winter, and one sister, Barbara Nehring, both of Salt Lake City; four brothers, Marvin Winter, Gordon Winter and Danny Harris, all of Salt Lake City, and Andrew Winter of American Fork, Utah; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be in Salt Lake City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

KIP JAY YOUNG

Kip Jay Young, 42, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 19, 1956, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was an inspector for the city of Las Vegas, a Navy veteran and a member of the Breakfast Exchange Club of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie; his parents, E.J. "Tex" and Dorothy Young, and one sister, Becky Jones, all of Las Vegas; three nephews and two nieces.

Visitation is scheduled 1-6 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church of Las Vegas.
