State's retail centers take in about $8.3 billion

Apparently a lot of Nevadans are making that a regular stop on their agenda.

A survey by the International Council of Shopping Centers says Nevada shopping centers accounted for $8.3 billion in retail sales in 1997.

That figure is up 7 percent over 1996.

Retail centers in Nevada attracted some 1.2 million adult shoppers in 1997, up 9 percent from the previous year.

Nevada had 330 shopping centers by the end of 1997, up 4.7 percent from 1996, according to the ICSC survey.
