Missing twin brothers from Carson found in Oregon

The 31-year-old brothers, last seen May 1, asked for assistance at a lodge run by a former police officer, who contacted Oregon state police.

The men were taken to the nearby town of Baker City, where police located their names in a nationwide computer data bank for missing persons.

"They were cold, wet and hungry," said Carson Sheriff's Detective Bob White. "After talking with (Oregon police), foul play is not suspected in the brothers leaving Carson City."

"They told them they left Carson City to get away from the gangs," added Detective Sgt. Fred Schoenfeldt.

The men had bought a tent and supplies and wanted to live off the land, according to Oregon police. It's not known how they were able to travel from Carson City to Oregon. It's also unclear how the men's car showed up at their apartment here after a missing persons report was filed May 8.

The brothers hadn't been seen since leaving their night jobs as janitors at SuperKmart. They didn't pick up their paychecks the next day.

The men moved to Carson City in September 1995. Their mother lives in Alledo, Texas.
