Letter: Serious problems in schools not getting enough attention

I have two children in elementary school and am very concerned. It appears the kids are on their own; that the teachers and administration are only out to look good for the public, thus downplaying violence as just horseplay.

Reading between the lines, I can see the school officials covering this up, glossing over serious problems. If this is happening in elementary schools, I shudder to think what my kids are in for in middle and high school.

Then again, we don't have to imagine, do we? No wonder so many are considering home schooling. I sure am.
